The aims of the Newcastle Mandarin Chinese School are to advance the education of Chinese culture and language to the public and the local community. Although most of the children are primarily of Chinese ethnic origin, the school also welcome children from other cultural backgrounds.
The School teaches Mandarin Chinese language (in simplified characters), where the pupils can achieve different levels of abilities to speak, read and write the official Chinese language. The school also equally emphasises the importance of traditional and contemporary Chinese cultures, so that the pupils have a better understanding of the language, and how and why it is used.
It is a non-profit making organisation.
