North East Polish Community Organisation

NEPCO was established by people with experience in social activities in 2007. The organisation fulfilled a demand that appeared with an inflow of Poles into the North East of England, especially after 2004.

Through NEPCO, we would like to: integrate the Polish community abroad living and working in the North East, to bring Polish culture and tradition closer to the local community, and to establish an intercultural dialogue based on mutual respect and understanding.

How do we want to achieve this?

Through shared games and entertainment; meetings, events, excursions, film presentations, concerts, exhibitions

Through our 2B magazine. It contains information about what’s on in town, introduces interesting local places, gives legal advice and presents recipes for a quick and tasty meal.

Through establishing constant cooperation with reliable and reputable service institutions acting in the North East. Together we organize various workshops for Poles to help them to live and work in UK.

Through Polish Saturday School (which started in September 2009) – it helps our pupils to integrate and deepen their knowledge about Polish language, literature, history and geography, but it also brings together parents.

We hope that we will also encourage everyone to take an active part in the local community life and activities organized in local areas.
