Sustainable Global Gardens is a registered charity based in the North East of England. Our aim is to make a contribution to Millennium Development Goal No 1, the eradication of extreme global poverty and hunger. We work:
- in those communities where income is typically less than $2/day
- generally in rural areas where SGG’s field experience can have greatest impact in terms of income-generation and improved quality of life
- in those countries where SGG supporters have previous development work experience. These countries include Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. However, we are now in a position to accept and implement projects in similar states not mentioned here
Projects include:
- Support for orphans
- Table banking (microcredit for income generation schemes – e.g. farming)
- Agroforestry
- Organic gardening and composting
- Rotary tree planting
