This free, interactive workshop is aimed at educators, social entrepreneurs, careers advisers and those who are interested in exploring how social entrepreneurship and innovation can help young people develop enterprising and entrepreneurial skills and to make a difference.

This interactive workshop will explore the opportunities and challenges for educational professionals in understanding and supporting social entrepreneurship and social innovation in the curriculum.
The workshop will start by reflecting upon the experiences of two guest speakers to create an agenda for discussion and experience exchange in how to embed social entrepreneurship and social innovation in the curriculum and extra-curricular activity.
In addition, the workshop will profile the outcomes from a European project, currently being led by SFEDI, focused on working with teachers to develop tools which can be used to support teaching of social entrepreneurship and innovation, and students to acquire and develop skills related to being enterprising and entrepreneurial in a social context.
The importance of enterprising skills and behaviours
The last few years have demonstrated that we are facing an increasingly uncertain and volatile future with an accelerated pace of environmental, economic, technological and social change.
These changes are having a significant impact on the future of work for young people. The European project has been exploring what can we do to help young people prepare for this changing world of work.
Whilst there is agreement that developing the enterprising and entrepreneurial behaviours and skills of young people will be important in helping them navigating change in the labour market, there is evidence to suggest that there are a number of challenges to embedding enterprise and entrepreneurship education in the curriculum, particularly related to the language of enterprise and entrepreneurship.
