We celebrate our diverse communities and learn and share from each other’s cultures, languages and traditions. Islamophobia Awareness Month takes place each November and promotes tolerance and understanding between Muslim and non-Muslim communities. Find out more about this year’s campaign and get involved.
Islamophobia Awareness Month (IAM) is a campaign founded in 2012 by a group of Muslim organisations. It aims to showcase the positive contributions of Muslims as well as raise awareness of Islamophobia in society.
The goal of this year’s campaign, #MuslimStories, is to facilitate connections among individuals from diverse backgrounds, including both Muslims and non-Muslims, using the transformative power of storytelling.
People are encouraged to tell their own stories, based on their own experiences or those of someone they admire to spark meaningful and engaging conversations.
There are free resources to support engagement, with downloadable packs for communities, schools (pack and Tree of Kindness worksheet), universities, organisations (including sports and NHS), public services and workplaces.
