Feature: La dolce lingua – classes, events and excursions for adult learners of Italian in Newcastle

La dolce lingua is a small informal language school for adults interested in everything Italian. Run by Antonella Rea, with classes in Jesmond, she believes any one, at any can can learn to speak a foreign language and have fun along the way. As an Italian living in Newcastle, she is passionate to share her language, culture and community and there are lots of ways to get involved and some fantastic events coming up!

In our Italian language community we strive to offer a wide variety of learning opportunities ranging from lessons facilitated by qualified, native speakers to more creative and adventurous experiences. We also organise study holidays, cultural events, cinema nights and invite guests to give online talks. We try to integrate less well-known aspects of Italian culture, history and society. As well as learning the language, this gives you a real flavour of Italian life which is further enhanced by our diverse programme of events featuring native Italian speakers.

STUDY HOLIDAYS

Study holidays in Italy are an integral part of our learning programme. These holidays organised in collaboration with a language school in Italy, offer a great opportunity to experience Italy in a new and more authentic way. Typically a study holiday will take you to lesser known Italian destinations, will include the opportunity to frequent a language school or to join an artist or photographer for a sketching or photography holiday.
