City Library and West End Library invite families to celebrate their mother languages at free drop in sessions on 16th and 21st February. Families can join in storytime in different languages, share stories, play games and enjoy arts and craft activities to celebrate International Mother Language Day.

These events are part of this year’s Express Yourself: North East Festival of Languages, which runs to the end of March and is hosted and coordinated by International Newcastle in partnership with the City Council. The Festival is a celebration of diverse languages and cultures and our connections to the world with lots of free events, competitions, creative projects and classroom activities for children and young people aged 3-18 in schools, community schools and groups.
