Our CEO Declan Baharini is always keen to talk about the vision, work and impact of International Newcastle CIC. She met with Peter Sagar of North East Bylines in February to talk about what our not for profit organisation does and why, our successes and future ambitions.

Declan shared how we work in partnership to provide support and opportunities for children and young people which open up the world to them.
The opportunities we provide help them to gain skills in languages, intercultural awareness and to visit other parts of the world, building relationships, confidence and resilience. These new skills and perspectives will help give them more choices for their future education and career paths.
Newcastle leads on this approach nationally and this important work will be showcased at the House of Lords All Party Parliamentary Group on Languages in April.

There is also the celebration of diverse languages and cultures in the region and our connections to the world.
This is never more evident than during the Express Yourself: North East Festival of Languages, which Declan is co-ordinating for the fourth year. Everything in the Festival is FREE.
This includes large scale singing, writing and art projects from January and partners offering activities, resources and live events free to schools and groups during March.
Children and young people can have fun exploring languages and finding out more about different cultures, sharing their own languages and heritage and finding out more about each other and people across the world.
