North East Solidarity and Teaching (N.E.S.T) is a student run volunteer project at Newcastle University supporting refugees and asylum seekers.
They have a range of social ESOL classes as well as art, sport and youth sessions. Please find below their timetables. People are welcome to come down to weekend sessions without a referral as they can register them on the day. For other sessions please send through their name and contact number and N.E.S.T will get in touch.
Alongside the main programme they also work in schools, have a community distribution scheme and support referrals of individuals needing more specific support such as unaccompanied children, young people in foster care and residents in hotels. They are also running a summer residential in 2022.

N.E.S.T summer residential
N.E.S.T are hoping to run their summer youth residential again this year. This is aimed at 12-17 year olds and would be a four night residential in either the Lake District or Scotland and would be in the first two weeks of August. Click here to see the video from last years trip.
If you are working with any young people who would be interested in attending please get in touch, it would particularly suit young people living in foster placements or semi-independent accommodation. This is run in collaboration with OSH and focuses on identify and leadership skills. Click here for details.
There are limited spaces but N.E.S.T is trying to include as many people as possible.
