Students from St Paul’s CofE Primary School in Newcastle interviewed Joshua Teixeira and Ishmael Bamba from Newcastle United Foundation to find out how languages can open doors for careers in football.
As part of this month’s Express Yourself: North East Festival of Languages, they were invited to St James Park to talk to the staff about where languages have taken them, how they are useful in understanding other people and cultures in a working environment and the languages they speak and those they have learned during their lives and careers. Joshua speaks Portuguese and English and Ishmael, who is originally from Ivory Coast, speaks French, Baoulé, Dioula and English.
