We are delighted to announce a free technology in language teaching (TiLT) pilot programme for North East secondary schools, delivered by our partners, Sanako UK. Schools can access free licences to use the online and AI enhanced Sanako Connect system, which offers three different areas for teaching languages and has a strong track record for engaging MFL students, improving speaking and listening and most importantly, enjoyment of the subject.
The pilot programme is open for registration now and aims to transform how Modern Foreign Language (MFL) lessons are delivered to GCSE and A-Level students across schools and trusts.

3. Using the ready-made GCSE content or quickly creating your own
- Sanako UK offers a wide range of GCSE and WJEC language packs
- teachers can create an ad-hoc exercise quickly or adapt to curriculum changes by using a simple drag-and-drop procedure for various elements or leverage Sanako AI to rapidly generate multiple exercise types in seconds.
- custom exercises can also be easily shared with your colleagues around the school or trust who can edit and re-share according to their needs
“International Newcastle and Newcastle City Council (School Effectiveness) are introducing this regional pilot as part of our Newcastle City of Languages partnership work, which includes our region-wide secondary schools’ Network for Language Teachers. We have built a strong relationship with Sanako’s Director of UK Operations, David Binns, over the last year and are grateful for his enthusiasm to support our language teaching and learning ambitions.
Following positive feedback from a successful pilot programme in Wales and our initial discussions about a pilot scheme, David ran a successful TiLT event at Newcastle University in July for regional schools, which has led to this generous offer to schools in the North East. We encourage as many schools as possible to sign up and get involved in this excellent opportunity.”
