We are delighted to share the news that the UK government has confirmed that the Turing Scheme will continue for the next three years.
Launched last year, initially as a one-year programme, the government’s 2021 Spending Review confirmed that the scheme has been extended for a further three years, including £110 million provision for the 2022-23 academic year.
The funding supports outward visits for children and young people to visit, study and work abroad. This includes funding for schools, colleges, universities and vocational training institutions.
10 Newcastle schools received £400,000 in summer 2021 for visits in 2022 to Europe and China and both our Universities (Newcastle and Northumbria) were also successful. We are continuing to work with the City Council’s Education team to support schools with their partnerships and visits.
More information on funding and making applications for 2022-23 funding will be published in due course. You can sign up to the mailing list to get updates from the Turing Scheme – click here.
