Our partners at the Confucius Institute at Newcastle University have made a generous offer for Newcastle schools. Starting in the new academic year, they are offering free Chinese language classes to be delivered in schools by Confucius Institute language teachers, as well as Kung Fu and Tai Chi sessions in schools delivered by an eminent Professor who is an expert in delivering these.
Following on from the success of the Confucius Institute’s ‘Welcome to China’ events delivered as part of the Express Yourself: North East Festival of Languages, we have been discussing wider opportunities for our schools with Dr Yuxiao Su, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Newcastle University. We are delighted to be able to share this fantastic opportunity to introduce Chinese language and culture to pupils in schools across the city – delivered FREE. Classes will begin in September/October this year and are open to Primary, Middle and Secondary schools in Newcastle.
