Newcastle schools and communities – find out what’s on in March for primary and secondary children during the Festival of Languages

Find out about free activities, events and resources available in March as part of Express Yourself: North East Festival of Languages, which International Newcastle co-ordinates on behalf of local, regional and national partners. It’s all about celebrating languages and cultures and our connections to the world and we’d love as many Newcastle schools and communities to get involved as possible.

Some activities are fully booked, but there is a lot that schools and communities can get involved in. 

  • events for teachers to support them in the multilingual classroom
  • access to two free online language platforms up to the 31 March
  • the Big 3 singing, writing and drawing activities
  • pre-recorded activities only available in March to do with classes or at home
  • language games and challenges for the classroom
  • national competitions open too for ages 7+

  • There are some spaces left for live events for pupils in secondaries/6th Forms in the North East during March

  • National competitions (which end in April)
