French teaching and language resources – Handy vocabulary

Handy Vocabulary with the Angry Family

This is a series of animated Powerpoint presentations with spoken French and text (with English translation) with the Angry Family characters. Many were updated in June 2025.

These resources were produced as part of the Linguacast project at Newcastle University’s Language Resource Centre. They are being provided free of charge for use in French teaching and learning (also available in German and Spanish).

Click here for an overview of the Linguacast project and an introduction to the Angry Family.

How to use the resources

French vocabulary is presented on different themes, each in an animated Powerpoint presentation and each exploring different parts of speech and vocabulary.
