Stand Together With Refugees
How we treat refugees reflects who we are. At our best, we are welcoming and kind to those facing difficult times. If any one of us feared for our lives or the
lives of our loved ones, we’d want to know that others would help us to safety.
Please join Together with Refugees and all those across the country who are calling for a kinder, more humane approach to refugees, so they can seek safety in the UK, rebuild their lives and make a valuable contribution to their communities.
Despite the clear groundswell of support for refugees from the British public, the government is pressing ahead with the Bill, which will have far reaching consequences for people seeking safety in the UK and criminalise refugees who arrive in the country without prior authorisation.
At a critical time when the conflict in Ukraine has resulted in 3 million refugees and MPs are set to vote on the Nationality and Borders Bill on Tuesday 22nd March, groups and individuals throughout the UK are coming together in a day of action today to show their solidarity for people fleeing war and persecution. MPs could secure signficant concessions to the bill, by doing the right thing and voting for Lords amendments (6 and 11) – find out how you can influence them.
