Declan will introduce Newcastle City of Languages and explain how a wide variety of public and voluntary sector partners work together to support schools and teachers with the aim of improving the teaching and take up of languages.
Join the webinar to find out how this voluntary partnership developed the annual Express Yourself: North-East Festival of Languages in 2021 – a celebration of languages and cultures and connections to the world. Discover how this has provided a boost to supporting the interest and engagement with languages, has sparked interest in the languages pupils are learning and also those languages spoken in school by their diverse community of students.
There will be lots of examples of how other schools and communities can access resources or develop partnerships to support engagement in languages and developing intercultural awareness and introduce fun activities in schools and communities.
