Digital tools to support people to access information in different languages and for those with sensory or learning needs

There are a range of free digital tools, which can be used to support inclusion for people who speak different languages, in multilingual environments, to support English language learning or for people who may have a sensory impairment or additional learning needs. Last week, Isa Wilson of Newcastle City Learning hosted a webinar about these tools and how they can be accessed and used. Newcastle City Learning can provide training on these tools in community venues. The webinar focused on free to access tools that could provide more inclusive learning or communication experiences:

1. PowerPoint Live (provides immediate written translation into a wide range of languages)
2. Immersive Reader (reads text, translates text, highlights words, picture dictionary, languages options)
3. Otter AI (Transcripts)
4. Class Dojo (for classrooms, instant translation, scheduled messages and setting tasks)
5. Google Meet (closed captions)
6. Microsoft Lens (for text and images)
7. Google Lens (for text and images)
8. Say Hi (for interactive conversations)
