International Education Week opportunities 16-20 November

International Education Week 16-20 November is a great opportunity for teachers and pupils, schools and colleges to get involved in activities and access resources around Climate Change, explore different countries and cultures and also find out how to build and embed international partnerships with schools around the world and international perspectives in the curriculum.

Hosted by our partners at British Council, International Newcastle encourages schools and pupils to get involved in these activities and to get in touch if they want to know more about our work to support schools and colleges to develop international perspectives to learning and international connections.

Get involved in International Education Week

This November, schools can get involved in a wide range of online activities and events as part of International Education Week, hosted by British Council.

These activities support and recognise the value of bringing the world into the classroom and to celebrate international work in schools, as well as enabling young people to take action on the global issues that matter to them today.

Free resources for schools

As well as meeting experts from around the world, pupils and schools can access a range of free resources on Climate Change (this year’s main topic of action and debate) and on Around the World Resources on different countries and cultures.

Support, exchange and advice for schools

Teachers and schools can take part in the Education Exchange series, to share learning and good practice on enabling young people to take action on the big issues affecting them, as well as support for starting or enhancing international partnerships.

This event will be on Microsoft Teams Live and will:

  • Give students the chance to learn more about the role of a foreign correspondent
  • Give understanding about why these matters are important in the UK and the rest of the world
